Cowboy!America x Reader: Yee-Haw~!
You stepped into the stables. Your horse, Lucky, whinnied at you. You patted her gently on the head.
“Hey girl,” you said “You ready to go for a run?” She whinnied again. You saddled her up, and lead you outside.
You leapt onto her back, and dug your riding spurs into her sides. She bucked, and took off at a high speed. You leaned forwards, feeling the breeze.
“Yee-Haw~!” you shouted. You loved the phrase. It was stereotypical, and honestly, quite funny.
A boy, who had seemingly come out of nowhere rode up next to you. He looked over and smiled.
“Wanna race?” he shouted over the sound of horse hooves.
“Hell yeah!” you replied.
“Down to the end of the road,” he said. You nodded, and dug your riding spurs into Lucky once again, her signal to go faster. She took off, running fast as she could go, leaving the boy in your dust.
You laughed joyfully. You were having the time of your life! Soon enough, you reached the end of the road.
“Whoa, Lucky, Whoa!” you shouted. Your horse bucked up again, and stopped. You turned her around just as the boy cam racing by.
This caught you quite by surprise, causing you to fall to the ground. You cried out in pain, and looked down at your hands. They had broken your fall, but were now a bloody mess. The boy then hopped down from his horse.
“You ok dude?” he asked, looking at your palms.
“I’m fine,” you said, whipping them on your jeans “I’m _______, by the way.”
“Alfred,” the boy replied.
“Nice to meet you Alfred,” you said “But I have to take Lucky here home.”
“Yeah, Racing here’s a fragile horse,” Alfred’s horse half whinnied- Half grumbled. You laughed as you re-mounted Lucky.
“So, race you again tomorrow?” you asked
“Defiantly,” he replied “And next time, we’ll win.” Then he hopped on Racing, who he tried to get to go fast, but just trotted off at her own pace.
You laughed. You had a feeling you and Alfred would be a bit more than friends.
